This world class company seeks a Direct Sales Representative based in California. This position requires knowledge of our products and familiarity with general company procedures in areas such as credit, manufacturing, shipping, returns, and pricing. This position is responsible for increasing bookings within the assigned territory and developing and maintaining new customer relationships. Primary role is to represent and sell the e-Systems product offering direct to the data center end user. In addition to direct sales develop and supporting a distribution channel to expand sales.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Gain extensive knowledge of e-Systems products and applications and complete the e-Systems Direct Sales Representative Training Program.
• Obtain background and understanding of competitor’s products and applications.
• Implement prospecting plan to uncover and sell the data center application in the assign territory with an emphasis on the Fortune 1000 market.
• Develop and support a distribution channel to capitalize on smaller markets or cover additional vertical markets, provide training, direction and motivation.
• Constantly train/inform end user and distribution channel on new products, applications and company programs.
• Contribute to marketing programs with prospecting databases, regional trade shows participation and individual direct mail campaigns.
• Provide project management team support, coordinating efforts of Inside Sales, Technical Products and Marketing as it relates to your end users’ needs.
• Bi-Weekly activity reports ( weekly during the start up period)
• Quota performance on 3 major product categories:  Console, Enclosures (cabinets), and Technical Products.
• Additional reports as required by Sales Manager

Summary of Requirements

Education and Experience:  Prefer college degree in business (or equivalent work experience).  Minimum of three years prior field sales experience, specifically related to the Data Center/IT/Telecommunication or related markets, in addition to, experience in a project oriented sales cycle. Experience with distribution sales preferred by not required.

Communication skills:  Has excellent written, verbal, phone, and interpersonal communication skills.  Can prepare and present information successfully to groups.  Can organize many pieces of information to create a comprehensive report.
 

Computer skills:  Has high level of computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases with good and accurate data entry skills.

Traveling:  Traveling requirements of 80%, in office 20%.

This position is responsible for the Engineering Departments of EDP and SMC by directing, leading and coaching in the creation of technical designs, detailing of new products from part prints, sketches, and/or verbal direction by performing the following duties:

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assign roles and responsibilities for Engineering Team.
• Promote and drive for consistency of processes and end deliverables across multiple engineering group.
• Analyze existing products to improve reliability, cost and design.
• Define engineering documentation content, specifications, and development schedule
• Responsible for project timing and deliverables.
• Maintain supplier contacts and evaluate sources for part suppliers.
• Track and report on status of project deliverables.
• Work closely with cross-functional team members
• Participates in proposal efforts as needed.
• Promote team building and leadership qualities within the e-System Group’s engineering team
• Review material, equipment, and resource requirements, prepares cost analyses for new programs.
• Direct draftsman on the technical designs, detailing and modeling of new products or components from CAD files, part prints, sketches and /or verbal direction.
• Provide guidance engineering support activities for products as assigned.
• Direct contract vendor work in the development and construction of prototype models for design development studies.
• Provide guidance for individual development and improvement.
• Assist in establishment of acceptable quality standards.
• Ensure project execution complies with the approved standards, procedures, and methodology.
• Facilitates team meetings as required
• Monitor timelines and milestones for changes and corresponding project impacts.
• Interface and work with vendors as required on project requirements
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills required performing the Job:
• Knowledge of Engineering principles, practices and standards.
• Project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in engineering documentation
• Solid track record of leading and motivating
• Experience in Solid Work and Auto Cad
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes and equipment.
• Minimum of five years of experience in an engineering management activity.
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in Engineering or related technical field.
• Extensive travel requirements
